RT300RF - Blank screen with new batteries

Description :

On the RT300RF or RT500RF Thermostat, if the batteries are not changed with the correct procedure (ie. allowing time for the internal capacitors to fully discharge before the new batteries are fitted) or before the batteries become totally drained, the thermostat can go into a locked / suspended state and appear to not work.

Your thermostat is not broken, but you need to follow the procedure below :

  1. Fully remove the batteries from the device and leave for a minimum of ten minutes. If possible leave for longer (30 minutes plus).

  1. Make sure the batteries you are using are good quality Alkaline AA batteries.

  1. Fit the batteries ensuring the polarity is correct.

  1. Wait for a further ten minutes and your screen should re-appear.

  1. If your thermostat does not begin working, please repeat the procedure leaving the batteries out overnight or for a full 24 hours.
  2. If your thermostat does not start working after performing this procedure then please contact our Technical Support or return the device to your place of purchase.
