RT520RF - Startup Configuration

         Buttons Used for Reset : Menu  Down Arrow and Tick .


  


If your RT520 series thermostat is new out of the box, or you have had to perform a factory reset clearing all of its current configuration (apart from any Landlord settings), or the batteries have been flat for a length of time, then your thermostat will enter its ‘Initial Start-up Configuration Procedure’.


To enter the Start-up Configuration Procedure, we will perform a Factory Reset :-

  Procedure :

  1. Press and hold Cog ,  Down Arrow and   buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds.  

The screen will go off and the device will reset and automatically restart showing all the screen icons followed by the Software Version Number.  


The thermostat has now entered its ‘Initial Start-up Configuration’ Procedure. 



  1. LANGUAGE will then be displayed at the top of the screen.


Press the Tick button to display the currently selected Language. 



  1. Using the Up and Down Arrow buttons , select your required language, and press the Tick button to confirm.



  1. TIME is now displayed and either 12 or 24HR will be flashing below.

Use the Arrow Buttons  to choose either 12 or 24 Hour Clock, then press TICK to confirm.


  1. You will now see the Hour flashing. 


Using the Arrow buttons, choose the correct hour and then press TICK to confirm.



  1. Minutes will now flash.  


Using the Arrow buttons  again ,choose the correct minutes then press TICK to confirm.



  1. Next you will see the Year flashing on the display. 

Using the Arrow buttons  choose the correct Year and then press TICK to confirm.



  1. You will now see the Month flashing. 


Using the Arrow buttons  choose the correct Month and then press TICK to confirm.



  1. You will now see the Day flashing. 


Using the Arrow buttons  choose the correct Day and then press TICK to confirm.



  1. You will now see DISPLAY at the top of the screen and the days of the week flashing below. 

Using the Arrow buttons choose either the Days of the Week or Numbers representing the Days of the Week with 1 being Monday. 

Then press TICK to confirm.


  1. The Daylight Saving Setting (DST) will now be displayed. 


Use the Arrow buttons to select if you want DST On or Off and then Press the TICK button to confirm.


  1. DISPLAY is shown again on the top of your screen, this is to allow you to set the Temperature Increments to either 0.1, or 0.5, depending on how accurately you want the temperature displayed. 

Enter the setting by pressing the Tick button .


  1. Select your choice of 0.1 or 0.5 for the increments, with the Arrow buttons  and press Tick  to confirm.


  1. The next setting is the Thermostat Control Mode. Your display will show the default TPI. 

Use the Arrow buttons  to select whether you wish to use SPAN or TPI and press the Tick button to confirm.


  1. If you selected TPI you will now be asked to select your type of heating system, Radiators, Underfloor or Electric. Select with the Arrow buttons  and confirm with the Tick button .


  1. If at any point you want to go back in this procedure, simply press the Cog button  to step back through the settings.



  1. If you selected SPAN, you will be asked to choose between 0.5 and 0.25

Press Tick to enter the setting.



  1. Use the Arrow buttons  to select your choice.

Confirm with the Tick button .


  1. OPTIMISE will now be displayed at the top of the screen. 

Pressing the Tick button will take you into the setting. 


  1. You will now be presented with the words OPTIMUM START flashing on the screen.

Press the Tick button to select if you want it On or Off



  1. Using the Arrow buttons , select whether you want Optimum Start and Optimum Stop to be ON or OFF and use the Tick button to confirm your choices.



  1. Your display will now return to the Main Temperature screen signifying the end of the Start-up Configuration Procedure.
