SALUS UGE600 Gateway – Setup, WiFi Update & Connection Troubleshooting

The UGE600 Internet Gateway is the central controller of the SALUS iT600 system. It allows you to remotely manage your smart heating system devices (e.g., thermostats, TRVs, relays) via the SALUS Premium Lite app.

Gateway Setup – Step by Step

1. Preparation:

  • Install the SALUS Premium Lite app:
  • Make sure both your phone and the gateway are on the same local network (LAN).
  • Initially connect the gateway to your router via Ethernet cable for stable setup.

Connecting and Pairing Devices

  1. Connect power and Ethernet to the gateway.
  2. Open the app, create an account, and log in.
  3. Tap “Add Gateway” and scan the QR code on the back of the device.
  4. Once added, the LED should turn green indicating online mode.
  5. Press and hold the button on the gateway for 5 seconds – the LED will blink red, indicating ZigBee pairing mode.
  6. Add iT600 devices as per their individual manuals.

WiFi Setup and Firmware Update

If you want to switch to WiFi (without Ethernet cable), follow these steps:

Switching from Ethernet to WiFi:

  1. Complete the setup via Ethernet first.
  2. In the app, go to Gateway Settings → choose “WiFi local mode”.
  3. Enter your WiFi SSID and password.

    Note: SSID is case-sensitive!
  4. Disconnect the Ethernet cable – the gateway should now connect via WiFi.

Updating Gateway Firmware:

1. After connecting the gateway in the app:
      - Tap the green cloud icon (OTA) to start the mandatory firmware update.

      - Optionally, use the blue cloud icon to fetch the latest version manually.

2. The LED will go through different colors:
      - 🔴 Red – update in progress
      - 🟢 Green – internet connection OK
      - 🔵Blue – update complete

3. A confirmation will appear: "Your security profile has been updated."

Common Issue: Gateway Disconnecting from Internet Problem:

The UGE600 gateway frequently loses internet connection, changing LED color from green to red. No error messages are shown in the app.

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  1. Weak WiFi Signal
    • Move the gateway closer to the router.
    • Avoid interference from walls or appliances.
    • Double-check the WiFi name (SSID) and password – they are case-sensitive.
  2. Unstable Internet (Router)
    • Test the connection with another device (e.g., smartphone).
    • Restart the router and the UGE600.
    • Make sure your router has DHCP enabled.
  3. Power Supply Issues
    • Use the original power adapter and check the cable.
    • Ensure stable power from the outlet.
  4. Outdated Firmware
    • Open the app and check if an update is available.
    • If needed, run the update using the OTA (cloud) icons.
  5. SALUS Cloud Server Downtime (Rare)
    • If the issue is widespread or persistent, contact SALUS support.

Factory Reset UGE600

If all else fails:

  1. Press and hold the gateway’s button for 15 seconds.
  2. The LED will turn solid – indicating reset completion.
  3. All settings and paired devices will be erased.
  4. Begin configuration from step one.

Final Tips

  • The Ethernet connection is the most stable and recommended for critical use.
  • If using WiFi, ensure a strong and reliable signal.
  • Monitor the LED indicators for current gateway status.
