RT510 family of devices:

Question: Can I use an app with my RT520 or RF520RF? Will this work with my WIFI? Can I control from my Phone?
Answer: No, the system is not compatible with an app. A replacement system with app control would be required such as the IT700 or IT800 models, Note these systems are not OpenTherm compatible and the RT520 is not wireless.



Question: How do I program my RT520 or RT520RF? How can I change the schedule? How can I get my heating to be on automatically.

Question: Has the RT520 got frost protection?
Answer: While the RT520 family don’t have a dedicated frost mode button, this setting can be achieved as follows.
      - Put the thermostat into manual mode, so the hand symbol is on screen.
      - Then turn the thermostat down to a suitably low temperature, usually 5°, and the stat will maintain that setpoint until changed.



Question: How long will the batteries last?
Answer: We cant say exactly how long as this is dependent on usage. Generally speaking, a good set of Alkaline types would last up to a year.
Its recommended to change them during the heating system annual service.



Question: Will the RT520TX pair with an RXRT510 receiver
Answer: Most RT520TX should pair with this receiver, but it is not fully compatible with all of the features that the RXRT520 receiver has. (OpenTherm)


Question: If I remove the batteries will the clock be reset.
Answer: If you change the batteries within a few minutes the clock and schedule are retained. If you change them in time, don't worry as you can set the date and clock afterwards.

Question: How can I stop the maintenance mode? I have a spanner on screen Thermostat wont work, it askes to call a number
Answer: Service mode is on and can be turned on and off in the Landlord menu, details can be found:

Question: Will the RT520RF or RT520TX work with my BOILER MODEL ?
Answer: The receiver with the RT520RF system will work with all boilers and includes OpenTherm terminals. COM and NO terminals are volt free but the installer could wire to switch 230Vac, 24Vac or other voltages.



Question: do hand, fire and a half full battery icons on screen mean?
Answer:
      - Hand = manual control, not following schedule
      - Prog (and number) = following the schedule
      - Battery icon = Warning, time to change the batteries soon
      - Flame or snowflake = demand for heat/cool



Question: Do I need to reprogram the thermostat when changing the batteries?
Answer: If the batteries are changed quickly then the thermostat should retain the time and schedules.
